House of Ashes is Supermassive Games’ newest title in the Dark Pictures Anthology, a series of interactive horror movies. Where previous titles featured ghost ships and haunted towns, House of Ashes heads in a more visceral and action-packed direction, with the player taking control of a special forces team at the tail end of the 2003 invasion of Iraq.
Hidetaka “SWERY” Suehiro is a creator like none other, having brought titles like The Missing, D4, and of course, Deadly Premonition to gamers everywhere. It’s no secret that we here at GameCritics are huge fans of his work, and we’re thrilled to be able to present this interview focusing on his next title, The Good Life.

World War Z, the dynamic and extremely replayable co-op zombie shooter, is getting a huge content upgrade this month in the form of the Aftermath update. I was lucky enough to get a chance to play it, and I’ve come away impressed with the changes the developers have made to their already-compelling third person shooter.
With its eerily familiar locations, its plot about freeing an island from brutal dictator, and a casually-murderous villain from the TV show Better Call Saul, Ubisoft’s upcoming Far Cry 6 immediately feels like a knowing throwback to the genre-redefining Far Cry 3. The crucial difference between them, however, lies in the point of view. Where FC3 wanted players to feel baffled and intrigued by the strange new world they were exploring, FC6 puts them in the role of a citizen of Yara, the fictional Carribean island on which the game is set.

King’s Bounty is one of the oldest names in computer strategy gaming, with the first edition released 31 years ago. Its mixture of RPG-style open-world adventuring and grid-based combat found great acclaim, although not as much as it would after being adapted into Heroes of Might and Magic. That series pivoted towards the grand strategy genre, with the player focusing on controlling resources and building epically-huge armies.
